5 cups sliced peeled apples
11/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
(or substitute cranberry juice - 1/4 cup)
1 cup sugar
2 tbs. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
Topping:
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup margarine or butter
1/2 cup chopped nuts
375 degrees. Grease 12" x 8" (2 quart) baking dish. In a large bowl combine all fruit mixture ingredients; toss to coat. Spoon into greased baking dish.
In a small bowl, combine rolled oats, brown sugar and 1/3 cup flour. With pastry blender or fork cut in margarine until crumbly. Stir in nuts. Sprinkle topping evenly over fruit.
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender. If desired, serve with ice cream or whipped topping.
