Twist Cookies

1 cup sugar
1 lb. butter, softened
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 - 5 cups sifted flour

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and vanilla, then flour and baking powder. Add the 5th cup of flour as needed to make firmer dough. Take small pieces of dough and roll by hand into little logs and twist in an "8" shape. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 10 minutes. Cool and ice with confectioner's sugar and sprinkles.
